Had evening fires about 6 or 8 times so far. Still very mild and most of those have been 'shall we?' moments.  The wood is free though so no issue to use it.

The same here, not really needed to light it but after a rainy day it made the evening cosy.

Been lighting ours for about a week now just in the evenings for a few hours while the telly is on.

Still way too warm down here in the south .  18 degrees still . Lit it once a couple of weeks back as there was a frost in the morning but let go out as it was unbearable by 08:00 am !

Ours has been on in the evenings for about a month now. It`s an economical wee fire & the house is well insulated. I cut & split my own wood, so this keeps bills down, hopefully it won`t be too severe a winter this year!

Is that a small Burley ?  If it is have you tried removing that blanking plate above the door to reveal the convection tubes ?

Hi Stubby, aye it's a Burley Debdale I think, was in the house when we bought it. Only moved the blanking plate when I painted it in the summer. Do you reckon it will make a difference? If so, I'll take it off .... got a wee fan on top, don't know it much use! .... cheers!

Ha!! If this kinda thing was even slightly likely i'd have the entire house refrigerated. Sadly, as it would just be my own Moobs ... it just wouldn't look the same 😂🤣
