There are big rumours that Trump is in the influence of the Russians, he came to power cancelled a lot of support for the Ukraine putting back their defence a lot. If he had a backbone where it comes to Putin and Russia he would have given them, or sold them long range missiles, but he rolled over when his paymaster snapped their fingers.

It seems Putin is loosing support from his own people . Since he " annexed " 4 regions of Ukraine in 2022 he has only captured 0.04% of the total area with over a million lost men and a huge amount of hardware . He is being lied to by his generals about how well they are doing and men are deserting in droves . It has been estimated that at the current rate of progress it would take him until 2033 to occupy just one of those areas .

It'll be interesting to see if any of the suggested pressure on China by the Trump the other day at his meeting with Xi will bear fruit.  He's offering tariff concessions to China (and India) in return for them buying less of the Russian oil that is essential for Putin to finance his vicious little war.

Looks the Europeans really really need to wake up regarding Russia.
The edited clip below is from a Ukrainian friend from Odessa, we were on the same ship for 7 years.

Everyone has become accustomed to this difficult war. Imagine how hard it is for the soldiers on the front lines. I have some friends who are Marine Corps officers, and they're like zombies now, doomed and depressed. It's almost impossible to talk to them. They just stare at one spot and say nothing. More and more people are ready to surrender to Russia. People are tired of the bombings and living without electricity and heat. I'm starting to think about where to move, because if Putin subjugates Ukraine, everyone will gradually be sent to prison or to fight against Europe on Russia's side. It's all very sad. If this continues, we will be captured by spring. I am currently working at BOSKALIS, and the same ship, Sea1 Spearfish, is now in Brazil. My family is fine, my sons are abroad, there will be no future for them here in Ukraine. If I'm in Scotland, I'll come and visit you.

That’s from one of the most upbeat optimistic guys I know, Sadly the USA looks like it’s turning in on itself very much like the isolationist movement pre WW2, people maybe forget how strong that actually was. Time to spend big on defence not net zero nor other nonsense, the ex forces guys on here have witnessed our armed forces being gutted for years whilst successive governments and PMs don the camo jacket and grandstand for photo ops.
Ive 3 sons who have done their national service in Finland, a country with less than 10% of our population yet an armed forces and civilian defence infrastructure hugely more capable and equipped than ours. The UK and Europe has seriously dropped the ball here “ with the exception of one or two”. Climate change, trans rights and all the other western leftard bollocks will be a long way from anyone’s priorities if we really have to get to it against a determined adversary who doesn’t give a shit about casualties .
The UK as was stated a few days ago currently has zero plans in place to deal with any form of missile or mass drone attack. Let that sink in !!! No plans 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️basically every man for himself.
