I didn't know there was a fixed time, @AHPP didn't  that site opposite your parents place get a 07:30 start through the week and 08:O0 start on a weekend when the groundworkers were in?

You can have a planning condition imposed to specify hours of operation on site if it’s a development - doesn’t apply to smaller scale, random one off scenarios like felling a single / group of trees of hedge cutting etc.

Don’t recall what the time is/was but I do recall them starting on the bloody dot the times I’ve been in residence. Very consistent. Clearly a rule of some kind in force.
07:30 if I had to guess.

Or take your family out for a walk, followed by a big dinner, turn the phone off and watch a film in the afternoon with a bit too much wine.

If you have to work Sunday (apart from emergencies and highway) you’re crap at business.
Couldn't disagree with this any more I enjoy work and if I want to work on a Sunday its got nothing to do with me been bad at business and all to do with me enjoying cutting trees down allot more than I do sitting on the sofa telling people what days they can and can't work is a no thanks from me and I'll be happy to deal with any noise complaints [emoji846]

Sundays are a day of rest, not a God bothering thing, just that society and humans needs a day that’s different, one that is focused on family or recuperation or reflection on why you’re doing it for the rest of the week.

If you just want it to be just another day, another 8 hours on the treadmill for you and the rest of society, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, an endless cycle of money making and shopping, fair enough. But try to see how others might not want chippers and saws in a residential area one day a week even if that interferes with your enjoyment.

I actually take allot of Sundays off but if I want to work and the job suites thats nothing to do with anyone els other than me my customer/staff I may choose to have a day off in the week or not its non of anyone else's concern what I choose to do and as for working Sunday = been bad at business does that mean all of the UK retail industry is bad at business cos there open I think its best to not dictate to others I've worked on the continent wear everything shuts down on a Sunday personally thats not how I would want to live leave people to make there own choice

It did take a bit of time for me to get used to nearly everything being shut on a Sunday out here.

A few supermarkets on a Sunday morning and that’s it.

After a while I realised how important it is, and how the loss of it in the UK is detrimental to society.

If no one works, no one loses out.

It’ll wait till Monday.

Anyway, I don’t want a row about it, so I’ll leave it.
