240v motor to power a pto driven splitter

I have no idea if this has ever been done but lower power motors can be used with an accumulator.  They store fluid under pressure to be released when required.  This does not increase the number of strokes that can be done per minute but does increase the speed of the stroke if there is a delay between strokes.  I.e. the accumulator is charged while you go get another log and fluid is released when you use the splitter.

They are used on BIG projects to move things like bridges without a stupidly large motor.  No idea if they are even available at this scale but just a thought...

Same principle as the kinetic splitter. Super fast stroke, with a charge time for the flywheel while you reposition or load your next log. The beauty of a tractor splitter is you got the big deck to work on, so there isn't really much repositioning required. Bang bang bang, turn that log into splinters rapido.

Find an old lister powered dumper and its already plumbed for a log splitter just a couple of quick release connectors and you can swap between dumper and log splitter.

Good idea, but the pump might be a little weedy. Ideally you'd have a pump that was well matched to use all of the engine power, plus cooling system.
