E10 or Premium E5 for s stroke tools?

a few week back i was using my old stihl  strimmer with a mulching blade on after about 3 hrs. non stop use the engine started to baulk  when i got home changed the plug checked the air filter etc. then a week later it started doing the same thing after 3 hrs again i bought the fuel about a week before the E10 came in said E5  on the pump  the only thing i can think of is the petrol

A few lads i know have had a few issues between them and nearly all have gone to the Shell V power, Esso Supermet or the Texaco one that i cant remember its name, I have been on V power for about 4 months now just mixed the same with no issues,,

I used my Kawasaki with a mulcher non stop all day two days running this week on E5 Supreme and it ran perfectly. I'm not sure it didn't drink a little more than usual but if so not by much and it never missed a beat. 

You must have had some bad fuel. I'm going to stick with the premium grade now.

Btw, Esso synergy supreme 99+ is e0. Guaranteed on their website.

Esso Synergy Supreme +99 is ethanol free only in some areas of the country and not in all they say due to technical reasons (ref statement currently on their website), the areas they mention where this fuel is not ethanol free are: Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland. 
 

I’m currently using Esso Synergy Supreme with an ethanol inhibitor in machines used frequently and Aspen in machines used infrequently without problem. Some contractors in the area have been using high grade petrol in machines for years now without problem.

I haven’t had any issues running my saws on E10 except they seem to be a lot thirstier. I never really kept track of how much they were using beforehand so I might be imagining it but I usually refill before they run dry and recently I keep being surprised when they do.

E10 supposedly  does   use fuel dependent on engine

 

What Car? magazine recently noted an increase in fuel
consumption of 10% in modern cars in a recent test. Honda have suggested running older landscape
equipment on E10 fuel may result in engines not meeting strict Euro 5 emissions regulations, although
all new models produced will comply with Euro 5 emissions regulations whilst running on E10 fuel.

I don't visit many petrol stations, not sure if e5 is available round here, so e10 it is, take it or leave it.

E5 is Premium Unleaded. Shell and BP sell it in almost all their forecourts. Asda and Tesco typically don’t.

Shell v power, Esso synergy supreme (both are actually 99+Ron and Esso guarantee e free in much of the country, shell don't and haven't for a couple of years). BP ultimate is also a 97 Ron E5 fuel.  Not sure if Texaco have a super grade.
