Over here in the states it became time to renew my policy. For the last three years, the company I was with has been increasing the price a bit each year. This year, with money not readily available I called and asked what the deal was with the rise. They couldn't really explain it. So I decided to get another quote.

I found the same coverage, actually a bit better, for 25%, yes 25% LESS!

I can only suggest to shop around if in fact you are curious is you are paying to much.

I pay £1500 a year for pl and el, i contacted arb insure about it to see if they could beat that and they couldnt do any cheaper, they told me its because i have 3 subbie climbers that i use, they say this increases risk. They also base it on turnover.

That is normally the case, but the NFU did not want to know my turnover, which surprised me.

I have 10 mill for both EL and PL costs £2700 for the year.

I am with Trust Insurance, anyone else use them?

Yeah im with trust, i have found them very good, i have been with them for 5 yrs. Last year i had to make a claim when a subbie that was working for me decided it would be a good idea to cut through the hing on a big ol douglas fir, it landed on a national park foot bridge, £1500 repair bill, i called trust and they sent a claim form and that was that, they paid up, i did however have to pay the excess of a grand.
