I'm looking at maybe getting a pickup more for general day to day use to start off with

Would need to be a double cab for two kids

Like I said it would be used as a daily vehicle but long term would probably also be used for work purposes tree an general garden maintenance

Money wise probably looking to spend around £6,000 - £8,000 maximum

Preferences so far are toyota hilux, ford ranger, mitsubishi l200 not really took much interest in anything else

What would everyone out there suggest from own experience

Cheers

Agreed Doobin.

Truth is all of the models you mentioned have a good rep, at those prices I’d look at individual trucks as a prospect rather than fixate on a particular model/make.

I've seen some solid looking trucks for around the 4k mark but mileage tends to be around 120,000+

I know the makes that I'm looking at should all have pretty good engines but I don't know how much more life they would have in a 100,000+ engine

I guess if it's only been used domestically it should have plenty left

I'm not too clued up on pick ups really

Its oil change and filter in my book that cuts it . if you do this at recommended intervals or less it can go on for a long time  . My D22 Navara recommended every 6K so I did it every 4K .  My D40 Navara recommends every 12K  so I do it every 10K . Obviously you have to study other stuff but oil and filter is the main one for me .
