MS650 2011 Never cut wood

I have a 2011 MS650 like brand new it's never cut wood. Would it be worth good money in it's condition or should I cracked on and use it🌲

If you can use it,if not at 9 years old realise the capital and sell it unlikely to get what you paid for it in real terms

Was a strange saw being less powerful but the same weight chassis as the 660 but 84cc .. if you have use for it why not.

If you have a use for it, use it. You won't sell it for enough to buy a new 661 to replace it.

 

I would hazard a guess it's worth £500-600?

 

Suppose the 500i is a closer replacement by bar capacity and displacement. 🤔

Should think 450 / 500 ish.

Better used than sold I would of thought. Decent chainsaw.

Use an abuse it. IIRC it is a 660 base with a smaller head on it. I think you could fit a 660/066 head to them and they're otherwise a 660, not worth it now unless you come across and old stock 660 head for real cheap. Just an interesting gimmick

I got to take exception to that, when I was looking for a 660 a 650 came up so I bought it, there's ef all wrong with it.

 

Ok so it's 84.9 cc  and 6.4 hp  compared to the 660 at 91.6 cc and 7.1 hp

So 6.7 cc down and 0.7 hp less....so what ?

 

I've used it for milling and the odd big tree for a few years now, I mill with both a 25" and 36" set up...absolutely no bother, the hp difference or advantage between it and the 660 could easily be lost by either a poorly maintained saw or slightly dull chain or both.

 

I've no idea why they made it as well as the 660 and if I had any kind of top end issue I'd change it up for sure but on the other hand if I had a reason to strip it down I recon it would be real easy to gain the 0.7hp or more with a few minor tweaks, 

 

And to the op if it's any help, I paid £500 for it in good nick and as with many of these larger saws it's fairly easy to see that it hadn't done much work, cheers.

I run a 2009 ms650. Also used for milling and larger tree felling. Never know why it was released being almost the same as a 660. I run it with bars ranging from 20" to 36" and is a good, strong saw. Got mine at a bargain price with a 25" bar and a brand new stihl 36" bar and chain. It had been bought to finish one tree job when the guys husky blew up mid-job and then sat in his garage until I put the idea of selling it in his head 😏

Definitely use it if you have a use for it.
