Hi everyone so it may be a stupid question but as I am quite new to using a bandmill, so when I get down to about 2innch from the log deck how do I clamp the last bit so I dont run into the clamps with the band hopefully there is a photo

Put a timber on the bed and cut the last piece on top of that if you need to cut it less that 2" Just screw a stop end and side stops to hold it in place if that makes sense.Very much like in the photo but you have no stops to hold it in place.

With a Logosol Mill you can down to the last 1", cant you do that with a Woodlands? I thought you could.

You can Andy but you do have to lay the clamp down at quite and angle to avoid the blade, sacrificing a bit of scrap wood to raise it up is often easier.

with the woodlands mill, its often safer to replace the metal log stops with wooden sacrifical onesif your going to be doing a lot of down to the base cutting, and a couple of blocks that fit from bunk to bunk and stick down allow you to clamp without worrying about hitting them, getting down to that last inch will depend on how well you set up the lifting cables on the head

Why the hell would you risk a blade trying to cut so low.Just put a 2" timber under the piece your cutting with stop block, its pretty simple and a lot safer.

Yeah I think both a stop block and some nice greenheart log stops that fit in the square holes I have cut the tops off those metal ones a few times ,Thanks Guys as you can tell still finding my way with bandmilling
