Yes most likely because i don't require a splitting Axe! it's for Clearing branches off whacking wedge etc and not so clumsy as a felling axe!

Round us Ibbetts, agricultural supplies place. When I lived in Hampshire it would have been SCATS but seems like it's turned to Moles and maybe not the same.

Got an Adler 1250g pro one which has higher grade steel head and usa hickory handle!

Regional calabri design....prob was  handy for some traditional use?

 

 

 

That adler seems like a bargin compared to the more  famous swede brands asume still made in germany to quality will be decent....

I must be getting old,still using the old Elwel[emoji106]

Couple of brades 7lb axes I found ... put one in brick acid to get the deep pitted rust off and it came out a bit bright though.
