i drive a defender and i enjoy a bit of off roading in it, but the problem is up here peak park are trying to restrict a lot of green lanes, and actions like this on a private site are causing more friction,

 

i hope i dont put benjii of posting but the problem is thats a site i have to advise on the management of, with illegal off roading issues, and protected species living in the watercourse and the banks, there are species there that only occur in a hand full of places in the county so seeing someone being naughty upsets me!

the ford is ok to drive across, but that defender is driving up the stream bed, its home to several rare species, and efforts have been made to stop illegal off roading at this site, and the local landowners, rights of ways officers and police have been involved in trying to stop it,

 

I know the site as i advise on the management of bank side trees and the river,

 

I would never drive up the stream bed or banks and in the picture i am crossing the ford according to the right of way. I do now realize i was crossing the river with too much speed and for this i am sorry. It was however a long while ago when i had first acquired the vehicle and was ignorant to the damage such an activity may cause again for this i am sorry.

 

Maybe the picture does detract from the point of the thread which i intended to point out the effectiveness of spending a few hundred pounds having a tracker fitted to your valued vehicle.

 

I shall think again before adding to this forum in the future.

Glad to hear you got your landy back, I have been toying with the idea of putting trackers on some of my kit, and I think that this story has given me the motivation to get this done. Thanks for posting this story
