  1. Keep your legs straight when your spikes are in the wood, if you have your legs bent the spike will be at the wrong angle and slip out the of tree, keep your weight pushed back in the harness by doing this with your legs straight your spikes wont slip out. Dont have your strop to short or to long. If you want to feel more sturdy on a pole whilst cutting then loop the strop once around the trunk this will give you a more comfortable working position and most importantly RELAX.
  2. Well done mate, it is a good feeling when you can chip into the back of your truck rather than driving around with diced up brash on the back looking like a gypsie
  3. Thanks for posting these I always like to see how other people go about things, why 4 people on the ground and it looks like a pretty simple dismantle why did you lower it, were you trying to hang the job out a bit?
  4. I hire mine to a good friend who I trust 100% and he looks after it as well as I do. But other than that I would only hire it out with an operator which would be me.
  5. Cheers Stu, I never thought of JDB I will give them a try on Monday.

  9. I had a call last month from a man claiming to be from the police wanting to see if we are interestead in adverting in a drugs awareness book. I lied and said that the person you want to speak to will be in the following day. He asked for their mobile number and I said I was unable to give this out so he said he would call the next day. Phew I thought, then my mobile rang I aswered it and it was the same bloke. Not so patient this time round I told him where to go and there was a couple of f words in there. He was very angry by this and called me a c### and hung up the phone. 1 minute later he rang me back to make me aware that I had a speeding fine and that i was a w#####! I was unaware of the procedure of a police man phoning you to first sell you a advertising slot, then go on to call you all the names under the sun and then go on to tell me I had a speeding fine. I felt very pleased with myself. He must of been really annoyed to call me back the 3rd time and come out with that little gem.
  10. I would not bother mate, I have worked with two firms with Mogs and feel they are not all that, cabstar and 6 " chipper is alll you need mate, unless you want more hassle and less profit
  11. Glad to hear you got your landy back, I have been toying with the idea of putting trackers on some of my kit, and I think that this story has given me the motivation to get this done. Thanks for posting this story
