They look like parell beads, part of boat rigging

So the guy I got them from was telling me that they were used for clearing drains not sure if this is right but he did say they were used to clear drains by his grandad .

I am pretty sure they are used for working lead pipe.(Bossing).

I've never used or heard of anything like them in drainage, I've done far less fresh water to know.

doesn't surprise me...

 

i actually thought they might be for expanding lead or copper tubing...

They look like lead bobbins, they vary from 1" to about4.5" diameter and are used with a metal weight or follower for bending lead pipes.

@Stubby do you think these are from lumpy water boats?, I've no experience of being wreck less with lumpy boats as you know.

I thought at first ( as I posted earlier on )  that they might be boat fenders but they seem too small .
