Best softwood for burning in woodburner?

Still good firewood which is what was asked.I use only use the outside of the trunk as mill any other stuff so cannot comment on the processing side so to speak

All softwood will burn if seasoned well however I prefer a mix of softwood and hardwood. Burn mostly Scots pine but also regularly western red cedar, Norway Spruce, Sitka Spruce and larch, basically burn what comes my way but some species do take longer that others to season properly.
