Which Silky & Where do you find most comfortable to carry it

The bigger curved blades do get through larger chunks quicker. So I have both. But the gomtaro is my buddy.

I've tried the Tsurugi and the Zubat but keep coming back to the Gomtaro. Maybe because it's the first one I ever used but it just feels right in the cut. Also straight hinges... The Zubat does have its place being more aggressive etc.

I've tried hanging on my belt and I've tried a sawpod but have taken to attaching the silky clip via a small carabiner to a gear loop on my harness. I seem to be able to find the scabbard with the saw easier without looking for some reason.

never really understood this. If a piece is big enough to warrant a hinge in it i'd be using a chainsaw just about every time.

Basically agree. When i extremely rarely do this it is oddly satisfing cutting by hand though

Yeah I totally get this but sometimes I find it feels safer using the silky on a small back-leaning branch which needs a bit of a push with the other hand or a top which feels a bit sketchy due to slightly odd work position. Sometimes on small reductions I fancy a bit of peace and quiet and leave the saw on the ground.

Gomataro on left lower leg here, I have my lanyard tail on left also. I leave my topper on which ever side is convenient, only having a carrytool one side would do my head in. Only once in 10 years (that I remember) have I damaged a lanyard with a saw hanging on the same side, Shirley that’s what the chain brake is for.

Zubat 300mm for all hand saw work, with the exception of the straight bladed Tsurugi for a job with lots of epicormics to remove. Find the Tsurugi really good in tight spots.
