delivered a load of firewood 2m square just down an untreated road near me, had about 2.7t on the towball, then the trailer tried overtakin the landy.. by time id got it straight i was nearly going too fast for the next corner.. and yes id thought it might happen so put half tonne in landy to stabilise it. thats first work done in 3 weeks and might give it up as a bad job.. need money for tax bill 2 though. need the exercise too, starting to look a bit pregnant..Ed

managed to get 3 days done this week and was on track to make good money untill it snowed hard again! did a few jobs on friday morn with the intention of splitting and cutting the rest of the sellable timber i have left and some ******er has stolen all the seasoned wood!

Problem in the south is the highways just dont plan for this ...my parents up in kielder forrest have better cleared roads (untill last night anyway!) than down here.

But i do feel for any one living near hills in this ice! i spose are flat and barren land scape has that benifit but its still possible to get the transit stuck for hours evan on the flat trust me !

Witnessed the most graceful "car crash" earlier, a bt van and a police car sliding towards each other and nobody able to do anything about it. They just bounced off each other, had to laugh at the policemans face though!

Just glad ive got my landrover!

I was up in Nethybridge over new year, lovely place. Although the minibus battery didn't like the cold :sneaky2::sneaky2:

Watched a branch come off a tree by the post offfice due to the weight from the snow. Awesome sight. There was a lot of snow on the roofs though, with the gutters being dragged off by the weight from it.

Awesome site walking up the river.

Is life as idealic as it seems up there?

There's been lots of snow damage alright, got an emergency call out today for a tree falling onto a house due to snow loading.

If you walked up the river you would have passed my house, we lost a few trees on the river bank. A couple of Alders and a Bird Cherry have snapped out and landed in the river. I'll be winching everything out once the snow clears.

It is a great place to live but like anywhere else, work gets in the way of getting out and enjoying your surroundings.
