I appreciate the offer so much! thank you!

I don't feel too comfortable just giving away my address like that though ☹️ As an alternative, could I message you from time to time to pick your brain on tips questions queries etc?

Hi,

I agree about not handing your address out to strangers on forums,  however you can get parcels/post delivered to a post office of your choice for you to collect from there. It is called Post Restante (operates worldwide). I used it a lot when in Aussie/NZ. Might be worth looking into - to see if you'd be confortable doing that instead.

All the best,

Jan.

Andy is well known on here, Ive been  to his place as he helped me out with some Oak pieces. You are safe passing the address to him for sure. A free axe is decent offer.

Nothing  is worse than burning wood with paint. You only need to read the latest government restrictions coming into place next year to do with wood burners.

Sounds like an good reason to burn it now, before it becomes illegal.

Lots of good offers on here, don’t waste your time with the painted wood, help take the shed down and get it disposed of at the local tip. I would not put painted wood in my stove it is not good for the stove, chimney and your health.

Well done on being keen to learn, that goes a long way, as we don’t tend to see it thar often.

I received an axe recently as a Thankyou, (posted about it on here) I gave the the bloke a coin as per custom to show no ill will, is that just a local / old custom or do other people still so it when they receive a knife or axe as pressie?

If that is okay with andy I would be more than happy to do that!

I'd recommend reading "Norwegian Wood..." by Lars Mytting

P.S. getting hold of wood is not hard or expensive if you are not fussy about what you burn.  I believe that commercially some wood really isn't worth the effort, hence the tip site on here.

Known as luck money around here, a token gesture usually after a deal has been struck.
