The government have handled things as well as could have been expected.
The data was there before the lockdown was implimented over here. You don't need to be a scientist to realise that the government has caused thousands of people to die 'before their time'.

Ferguson’s track record in grossly overestimating potential casualties is beyond shocking Mark in many cases,
Has the government done everything  right ! Of course not. But if people can’t see that the end result of this shutdown is going to be as bad if not worse than the virus then they are deluding themselves.  The worthy but now misguided desire to protect the nhs and save lives is achieving very little right now. The NHS is totally in control of Covid. Hospitals and icu wards are running at way way below capacity. New studies are appearing every day with data showing why people were susceptible including obesity ?‍♂️?‍♂️ Come on you don’t need to be a genius to realise that being obese and unhealthy is going to make you susceptible to illness. We need a massive reboot of society and less outcry and political correctness when people state the truth. What we should be directing our angst at is the Chinese for bringing this shit to the table, but no what do we do instead we throw billions of business their way ie they are currently being awarded contracts to build the next batches of jackets and turbine bases for many of the new Scottish wind farms !!!! And who pays for that in the end ??. The British taxpayer ??. Imagine the skills and benefit of building those here, apprenticeships and real genuine jobs. Like I say the changes required are massive and unfortunately I think profit and short term gain counts for more than anything else.

UKs official death toll is second only to the US, though Brazil will take that dubious honour from us in short time.

A small point but the Brazil figure is almost certainly well ahead of ours as they aren't counting Covid deaths in the favellas according to a Brazilian friend.

Very true. Bolsanaro, being the Latino version of Trump, has a lot to answer for. Absolute clown.

Come back up to Scotland J and you will see what the other end of the spectrum is causing. The financial, economic, mental health and subsequent social crash that’s going to happen up here is gonna be horrendous long term. Hospitals are empty, treatments for all other illnesses are on hold but hey nothing else matters than follow the guidelines stuck with it blah blah blah. I truly get the feeling we are starting to see a level of control over the population that politicians especially those of Sturgeons character would like to maintain long rather than short term.
The balance had long since gone out of this process.

You should see the plight of the North East mate.
Replace Sturgeon with Johnson and we're on the same page.
