Mine was a little gutless when I first got it, I got one of those tuning pins. Bloody hell what a difference, can’t believe just doing that has made such a difference to power- and no obvious fuel usage difference either.

On our old 200TDI Defender work truck we fitted a boost pin, front mount intercooler, exhaust, silicone hoses, wound up fuel pump all at the same time and it was like a different truck... Before towing up hill you'd go from 4th to 3rd and then down to 2nd holding it on its limit without the power to get up into 3rd again. I used to cry inside for the poor engine with loaded arctic lorries cruising by on dual carriageways...

The mods allowed it to hold 3rd up those hills without ringing its tits off...

Now our remapped 2.4 Puma will accelerate in 4th no sweat...

You can get a conversion kit for them discos to convert them to a pickup once the chassis does rot out,

I'm linning up the misses for that,

shes very anti the idea though, might suprise her one weekend

Used Land Rover Discoverys don’t enjoy the same cult status as the iconic Defender, so when the rot sets in, values hit the floor. That means MOT failures

I bought this Disco 1 300tdi a few months ago for £1500 with full MOT, chassis is spotless and only a bit of rust in boot floor (can buy replacement panels). I bought it to cover my defender whilst it was going to be rebuilt on Galv chassis, but you know what the defender had been sat still for 2 months now. The disco is just an absolute beaut, it’s the perfect balance of comfort and refinement vs old school basic mechanics, thouroughly reccomend if you can find a tidy example of one. £260 tax a year, can tow 3.5t, doesn’t feel big. Just love it.

sensible price, sensible buy. prolly better than a Defender too.

Had a Forester 2.0 turbo for a few years 2001 plate. Was a great vehicle. Never missed a beat.
Little bit thirsty but apart from that I loved it. Very practical, pretty decent for mild off roading and quite quick as well.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, like that old one I had. Mine was rare being a manual gearbox.

I do like my Grand Cherokees. The WK is a lot of car for the Money and I find far more reliable than Landrover plus a good bit cheaper. Merc Engine and Box and Merc tuned suspension as the company was DaimerChrysler at the time. The newer WK2 is based on the Merc M Class although I died a little inside when they dropped the Merc 3.0d for a Fiat owned Diesel. :D

The one I had I had given to me by a lad I know, it's was tidy for its age R reg, it pulled a trailer well, and I can't remember ever getting it bogged down.

I put some pictures of it on here when my ex missus got hit head on in it by some dick head speeding down a narrow lane.
