Need other internet security software

I have Live Onecare anti virus on my laptop which puts junk email into a junk folder. The other day I went to highlight a viagra email to delete it and accidently double clicked it. Suddenley loads of windows opened as fast as I could click them, I was clicking no, then yes then god knows what.

I ended up with a virus or trojan called Win32/nuqel.E

I phoned Tommer who googled it through for me to let me know what it was and recommended his antivirus which I cant remember what it was.

This virus was one of these that opens window after window then does a virus scan and frightens you into buyig this software. This software comes up on the only page you can open.

I couldn't even open a virus scan, but eventually found out that if I booted the comp and clicked on virus software like adware before it had finished botting it opened ok and scanned, but neither adware or Live onecare picked anything up

I eventually after 3 days found that it had altered my internet proxy settings which only allowed me to go to their website so I just deleted theirs and clicked detect settings automatically, then downloaded a specailist virus software for that trojan

Tommer what was the software you recommended and does anyone else use something that rejects virus emials completely and doesn't allow them into a junk box

I use avira premium security suite, has email protection, firewall, prevents attacks and has a good antivirus and you can set it super sensetive so it thinks a word document could be a virus. But its still pretty good at medium settings. its £25 for a years licence, steer away from windows live onecare, i had nothing but problems with that, for the £38 they want a year, all it did was complain that i never backed anything up, and hardly ever found a virus, it was just lazy. Kapersky is great, we have it installed into all computers and have never had a problem since installing it.

However no anti virus will be able to remove this particular virus and the only way to get rid of it is to do a full reinstall, we had it on one computer and it was a complete nightmare, it will keep croping up and also has key loggers built into it + more.
