I have every expectation that 3D blue ray will be hugely expensive to begin with.

I expect many films that claim to be HD are only slightly better in resolution right now.

Films like avatar will be the ones that really begin to raise the bar in terms of quality, after all like many things the full potential of a device is rarely used at the start of its life.

 

 

Large format film based movie cameras were HD quality but the projectors and recording/transmittign equipment were not capable of it, so many old films are beign released in tru hd from original the original films. Its only know we have the technology to digitise to such a high standard.

 

Avatar does make the best use of it so far though.
