TW125 stolen in Kent

Replaced by the 160, probably about £14k with the VAT.

 

My machine had done a lot of work, but I’ve looked after it and it recently had a £2k refurb.

A good plan, but only likely to catch the unsuspecting/gullible new 'owner'.

 

I would suspect it is more likely that a spout will be stolen to order on behalf of those that knicked it. 

 

If you have a tw125 in the locality, my advice would be to keep the spout well secured (and that doesn't just mean evenings and weekends).

Indeed Mark,  hence the owner bit in inverted commas.

 

Sad to hear of your hassle, especially on a machine you got refurbished yourself.  Hope you get it back.

Hope you do get it back Mark, it's just a bastard when stuff is nicked and costs you a load of money and inconvenience. Especially galling after having all that work done on it.

Good point about insurance, I need to tell mine about your old stump grinder which is working very nicely thank you.

Put an add on ebay...  timberwolf 125 breaking for spares....  if you just put spout in they'll be on to you...

How much will a new chipper of the same spec be?
 
I guess the only silver lining here is that your old chipper must have done a fair bit of work if you got it in 2009. Horrible to have stuff stolen mind.

Who are you insured with mark ?
On my last claim 27k they added an investigation as they said it was suspicious that so much gear was take which added to the stress not only was the chipper bolted to the floor with two wheel clamps and a head lock it had a pto winch lowered on a tractor with the battery take out in front of it and two security bollards, locked doors and cctv ... all saws where in metal security boxes with double locks but they came with a gas torch , I only got what I paid for the chipper ... saws climbing and rigging kit was replaced new for old but there was a lot off stuff unlisted or I didn’t have receipts for they would not pay out on... felt double fucked over.
