Forum Trolling

Firstly my apologies to the upstanding members of this community who may feel let down by my seemingly more lenient approach to moderating of late. Truth is I just have a lot on my plate and things have suffered because of it.

Unfortunately, an increasing amount of members persist on pushing the boundaries with not only the increased use of unnecessary profanity, but also in the trolling and abusive comments towards other members. They are doing neither themselves or the forum any favours.

Members, by using the report post function it will make it far easier to draw my attention to these types of issues so I can take actions (as I already have done this morning)

Thanks

Hi Steve, thanks. I had noticed some profanity of late, it is quite clear in the do's and don'ts, so those doing it should probably re-read and understand them. Will report any from now on that I see.

I agree. I hadn’t noticed any profanities to be honest but maybe I don’t use this forum as much as others.
The reason I like this forum is it’s a decent place to discuss work, help each other out and learn a thing or two. It’s nice to do it away from the childish rubbish that goes on on the Facebook pages.
A bit of innocent banter and leg pulling is always welcomed but let’s keep this forum professional.

Great. I was thinking of the “report “ button only this am. I hadn’t been on the receiving end of any of the disgraceful comments that were being thrown around so kept my nose out of it but was wondering what I would do if I was.

Before I threaten to punch someone I need to know how hard they are[emoji6]

I’m an elderly desk jockey and some of you arborists I’m sure are quite hairy

I tried to post on trip advisor the other day, and as i hit the upload button, it stopped me warning me that profanity wasnt allowed. I hadnt intentionally used it, but i had mis spelled that, and put an s at the front!

So, perhaps there is some filter that can be added to stop this happening pre post stage?
