Hi All, long time since I’ve Posted!

Anyway, has anyone seen a splitter like this for sale in the uk?

https://youtu.be/ruvu6j5S3hA

I split quite a bit of oversize stuff and wonder if this would be any quicker, using an oxdale 10t tractor mounted splitter at the moment. All thoughts welcome.

TIA

Hi folks, I thought I'd resurrect this old thread. I came across a video of a box wedge splitter on YouTube recently and it looked quite productive. Any reason they're not popular here?

Is there any box wedge splitters for sale /available in the UK? I've had a quick google but couldn't find many at all.

Poss the size of the wood we have here.

They cut much longer wood than we do.

So each bit is 2 or 3 times the weight of our 8" rings.

I like the look of them too, @Billhook on here has built one with a refinement to ensure the log drops cleanly before the next pass

Getting one delivered this week but I'm laid up in hospital so won't be able to report back for a while.

As for the slivers/waste, I was told it is up to 10%. Sounded a lot to me but went ahead anyway.

Surely that 10% is kindling ?
