Yeah, I'm sure it could be done a few ways but I've no experience of what the difference might be like.

 

If it was something you wanted to try a couple of inches of rail protruding backwards towards the saw would be ideal to mount a 1 off roller alternative, I'd imagine the more the diameter of the wheels the bigger the advantage.

 

But on the other hand I don't see why you couldn't just modify the existing skid by welding on a bush to accept an 8mm bolt giving you a simple bolt on alternative when you feel you need it and at the same time you could / would beef up the Panther skid which looks a bit puny compared to the Alaskan, cheers 👍
