Made a start today. Well pleased[emoji106] Must remember to wear goggles next time.
Fair cut at 3.9m long and 65cm wide. 076 runs out of juice 2/3 in but choggs through it nicely. Few more to cut and stack[emoji6]

Take them through at 105-110mm so you can get 100mm planed finish which what i mill mine at.

Also allows you (with a bandsaw anyway) re-saw and still have full 1" or 2" Boards.

I never said I mill at that. But if someone wishes to mill at that thickness it allows them that option. I dont plan on having stock around for the time it takes to season 4". 3-1/4" suits me fine for the thicker end of my requirements and the Im yet to be asked for anything thicker. 

 

I will take Sauls advice on though when I tackle the 52" Oak and Mill it at 4"+ but thats purely down to the width and spiral in the stem.
