Dead elm from last week , the amount of Bullshit I had to say to the customer why he should not keep it to Burn was unbelievable. 

Had to Roll the trunks to me van and still explain why I was not cutting it up on the job....told them I needed them whole for Car park Bollards ?

I just love milling to see inside these trunks ...a bit like Christmas as a kid opening presents .

It's totally beyond me how you ever manage to sell everything you mill - you seem to going for it 'hammer and tongs' relentlessley, day in day out with no letup !!!

Yeah, they also get rusty and seized.

 

I generally don't have a whole lot of milled lumber but I've also used chain with turnbuckles using a flat sided log as a strongback on big stacks, just because I had them, and that was the best ... easy to adjust, cheers.
