New top handle purchase???

Hi, I’m new here and I don’t like technology much so this may not go right, but here goes.

I am thinking of replacing my Makita top handle saw with either a Echo or an Efco as I get on well with both the local dealers, but I could do with any advice / help offered on what make to buy.  The Makita has been a good saw, but is now showing its age (it will be retained as a backup).

Given the choices you put up, I’d go for the Echo.

Echo 2511 and get the stihl 150 bar and chain for it.This will require a change of sprocket to run the above bar/chain.

The standard chain is too aggressive

the echo 360 tes is an ok saw, although if your doing lots of work then id say a stihl 201tcm would be better but a lot more money

Rightly or wrongly, in this job we get judged by what saw we use ! For me it’s a’sthil’ every time, no question. Plus with saws we get what we pay for!

i prefer husqvarna t540 myself or stihl 201.?

I'd consider replacing that Makita with a Makita if you intend to retain your current one as back up.

I would go echo, we run 201t and husky, I like the husky for power but prefer Echo due to the lack of electronic carbs !
