Id go for the 562 if your looking to pull an 18" bar

550's more of a 15" saw.

Depends what your using it for though, may be ok in soft woods

Thing is he wants " lighter " ...

Yes, I am after something a bit lighter. 562 weighs more than 555 so not a good idea!

550 is 600g lighter than 555, which doesn’t sound much but might make it more tolerable for my kinda work. I am predominantly doing first thinnings and brushing out, so light and good bar length are important.

Mike,

There is a 353 on gumtree in ayrshire at the moment for £150. Bit less revy than a 346 but torqueier. Might be worth a look.

Husqvarna 353 g chainsaw Fitted with 15" bar and brand new chain Fitted with heated handle Being a 51.7cc saw its very capable and has lots of power for its size Always ran on...

I got chance to have a play with a Mk2 550 on Friday......

Wowsers. What a saw. It has truly surprised me, it is so quick to rev and was absolutely flying through timber at full bar length. I'll be buying myself one in the very near future, very very impressed.
