No feedback as a seller.  Only as a buyer.  I'd be concerned.

I agree - the other thing I've learned to be very wary of is the classified type of listing, the £750 for the breaker and pack is a classified listing

'This is a Classified Ad listing. There is no bidding on this item, so contact the seller for more information. Seller Feedback scores exclude classified listings.'

Someone bad can use a classified listing and know they are not part of the ebay money back guarantee. It happened to me, because I wasn't intelligent enough to not trust someones word.

No feedback as a seller isn't good - I have no idea other than you drive to the unit with armed backup, he may only go there ocaisionally if it is even rented by him. I would have thought someone doing lots of sales would be charging VAT.

I got ripped off on a tipper once by one of those organisms that live together not in bricks and mortar. It made me realise that if there was no come back I would be happy to drop someone dishonest like you would a pigeon.

If the account has been hacked then ebay will refund you , at least they did for me just recently . Paid with paypal though .

But thats because you used PayPal, they can take the money back off the scammer so eBay is not out of pocket. Pretty sure you won't get a refund for a bank transfer, as the money has gone.

The same is the case when selling, if the buyer claims theres a problem and you can't disprove it, they will refund them, taking back YOUR money.

Yeah done all that Eggs, google doesn’t really come up with anything on it

Give his  neighbour a call, at the very least you will find out if the business exists. Dont hold your breath, most of the units are boarded up.

Hee! I did a street view and got just next door.

Date stamp is 2012 though so could have changed a lot.

If the money has gone into a bank account and the 'seller' (scammer) is not answering messages or calls maybe its worth going to the police.

Of course a way to find him could be to get a mate to arrange to buy his other item cash on collection. Bit risky though unless you know any mercenaries who carry out special ops. If you pay council tax and fund the police.....

I’ve contacted eBay this morning. They are keeping an eye on his account. As said previously nothing can be done regards returning the money as it wasn’t done through paypal. They have said my bank should be able to retrieve it though! Don’t know how true that is.

Did what bob said and found the nearest business to the address. A star scaffolding, really helpful guy. Said that unit 9 is empty but was a business Hire 4 U, up until around 12months ago.

Also, asked what other information eBay had on the seller and it’s a landline for Leicester area and email they’ve got for him is sales@ukclearancetools
Contacted them and they have no idea. Contacting eBay themselves to complain.

Looking like I’ve been done!

No overdraft facility on my account, it was paid with my money. Just been into Halifax to pay in and explained to them. It’s also a Halifax account that the money’s been paid into. So I’ve a stronger chance of doing something about it due to that apparently. They’ve given me a number to contact and report
