Export on all plant and machinery at the moment is big because of the value of the pound being down, dealers can stuff containers full of s/h gear at top money without worrying about warranties and comebacks. Does not help those looking for second hand kit, a mate of mine is taking a truck to france to buy a s/h  tractor because he cant find what he wants here.

Interesting, I was flirting with the idea of a big tracked chipper, but then as the op says they disappeared, that explains it.
