Private get 1 month, commercial get 3.
Just the way it is, whether it’s right or wrong not worth worrying about.
How many people use account facilities at shops when buying a new saw or wait a week to pay pay a bill. Same difference

Why would private get one month?

That’s a messers dream.

I find it easier and the customers appreciate it.
If you take payment on the door step it would be cash or cheaque which is a pain going into the bank.
If your wanting transferred then you need to provide an invoice which they legal have 30 days anyway(Scotland) .
I’m set up for larger jobs anyway so don’t really notice the difference .
I would find it hipocrytical when I use fuel cards, credit cards, finance, when I’m invoiced for anything I pay within 2 weeks.

We always bring a printed invoice with a tear off part at the bottom of the page that the customer signs to say that the work has been completed to their satisfaction. Very Important and legally binding.
If they don’t have the cash or cheque there and then we will give a couple of days grace for them to pay over the phone with their card.
