Does anyone demand payment on job completion?

Again, you're doing yourself a disservice.  You should be leaving the branches attached to the tree and informing the client that you've finished and that it will green up again nicely. Post payment, of course.

I fail to see when a pre arranged day has been agreed to do a pre arranged job for a pre arranged price why the customer can't  pre arranged payment ready for handing over on satisfactory completion of the job! I'll have to include "WE DO CREDIT, buy now pay whenever" in my future advertising!

so you are prepared to wait 6 months for some customers?    Do you charge an extra 10% on top if you have to wait that long or do you simply swallow it?   I shi*  the bed after  5 days if the money isn't in my account.  If they make you wait that long they are making a fool out of you and you are making a fool out of yerself.  

 

When i go to Tesco or Aldi fer me food shopping and a tank of diesel i know how much i can afford to spend and i pay up pronto like.  If customers query my payment terms i simply recite my mantra.

Some of my regular clients have live abroad and have holiday homes near me, I do bits and pieces as and when and bill them when they arrive. They'd be fine with mailing a cheque but it really doesn't matter to me, I know it's as good as paid. Unless they unexpectedly die of course.

I have a few clients like this too. They always pay when I see them. It’s fine as long as the trust is there. Difficult if you need the money quick I suppose.
