A gardener with a rope........ proud of it.

And, Mr Bullman, how does one quote a job?...    climber for the day? groundie for the day..  everything else is all about the aggro of doin it, shifting it...

That prick who goes about pricing a grand then subbing it is the real villain if your asking me, wants flogging within the proverbial inch for taking the piss out of customers and his subcontractors..

He and people like him are the real reason people are wary of tree surgeons.  evertime I do a job they have to be remeasured I ain't gonna run off without moving the rubbish..

He's not doing the industry any favours in the eyes of the public, I'd agree with that.

But then neither are fucknuckles quoting jobs based purely on wages.

who said based purely on wages?.. I did mention the aggravation involved.  the cost of removal.   I don't see why ordinary people should fork out for expertise.   its not like chopping a tree is hard is it..   if I can do it anyone can..

and I don't see why people think they aught charge hundreds because they went and bought expensive equipment to do the job..   the reason you buy stuff is for convenience, get the job done quicker to move on to the next one...

The thing is, a good tree company should represent value for money for the customer, get in get done and move on.  not charge a fortune and sit around all day waiting on a check because they've charged the old dear a grand for a ten minute job...

If you take your climber and groundie price your at 230 + cost of moving it plus your aggro like tax, fuel and insurance with maybe a small profit margin and where do you think the price will be? Probably not a million miles from the quoted price.

Seems a lot granted and could be done cheaper if you didn’t give the customer notice of when you’ll do it straight away and you paired it with a couple of small jobs to do in the same day.

Equally suppose you could turn up solo and fell the lot and leave it where it lands for £150-200 and be done with it.

Sorry just rambling.

If you don't charge good money for using good equipment then you are on the road to ruin. That's why many tree surgeons end up diving taxis.

'Ripped off by tree surgeons' xD did they drive you to the cash machine while you were still in your slippers and then didn't come back to finish the job off?

LOL's I've never employed a tree surgeon and wouldn't be goin to no bank to draw money out for em..   slippers or no slippers..

As to some ending up driving taxi's, can't speak on that, only you aught to know your market before you set off trying to thrive in it.

Why would you pay a professional to risk their life?
Put "chainsaw fails" into YouTube.
Nearly as bad as spilling coffee on your keyboard?

If it was as dangerous as you try to make out, there wouldn't be any tree surgeons..

Yes there would, they would be the good ones.

If you were to take up any profession with the same enthusiasm with which you offer your opinions then you would be very successful.
