Work positioning using srt

Hello,

 I'm well used to working both ends of my drt line with a hitchclimber as the main line and a prussik on the other end.

Usefull to have two anchors when branch walking.

How can I do this using srt?

Pretty much the same surely, but then why the need when you can just put in a static or dynamic redirect?

I've just started using srt for access however getting used to working from it is proving quite a tough road.

I'm currently working on some large plane trees with long smooth branches. 

I'm afraid I lost my nerve, forgot much of my recent course and went back to drt.

I just use a side strop like I would Double rope but most of the write ups seem to talk about using two climbing lines for positioning SRT.

Does take a bit of getting used to if your conditioned to climb double rope I think especially coming back in off limbs as your so used to holding half your weight in the rope and pulling your self in that way the whole balance thing feels wrong .. I find coming back in off a long limb that if I clip on my tending tether it helps drops rope slack and keep your knots /device where they should be instead of dangling by your knees giving you a lot more comfort.. I think once you get used to it and it clicks you will enjoy it , I spent at least a year transitioning between the two and was doing a lot of Rec climbing at the time.

I don't really have the time on jobs to practice 'deplacement sur les branches' so I only use srt for access at the moment.

Rec climbing is the way forward then.

God knows ive tried with srt and its great for access but for working the tree i just cant manage to get it to be slick so i ve just resorted to ddrt.

Keep at it with SRT, especially if already using it for access, one day it'll just click and you'll do the whole tree SRT. It took a long time for me making the change.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat in being more comfortable with Ddrt for work positioning, although it's very job specific for me.

That's why I like the RW/ZZ combo, you can switch over in seconds.

I barely use srt these days. If I get a big tree ill use it but likely change to ddrt once I'm up there.

For me it's a pain to advance your tip, to the point where ill usually climb up to my anchor and then work the tree srt, complete opposite of most on here.
