Are these the most expensive logs?

I sell a 1.2 cubic metre load of logs, approx. 300 logs for £80. My wife works for centre parcs and their chalets have woodburners and you buy your logs at their shop -£10 for 4.

Have I got my maths wrong? 300 divided by 4 = 75 multiplied by £10 = £750

You are very cheap presuming the logs are dried and Centre Parks are making a bob or two

I wouldn't put it past Centre Parcs charging such extortionate prices. There's a good chance that most visitors to Centre Parcs have never bought a log in their lives so they don't know any better.

Looks like I had it backwards when I tried doing 10+ for £4 last year.

 

On the plus side it looks like I should increasing our 1.8 cube load from £125 to £1250... Wish me luck

I do a lot of camping with my kids and iv seen this more and more In recent years. Alot of camp sites say no fires unless you hire thier chimea and buy their logs.

I always take my own and play dumb if I'm questioned about it. I refuse to buy from a camp site for this reason.

I think I would be foraging around for firewood at those prices......did the guy in the campsite wear a tricorn hat, brandish muskets and ride a horse called "Black Bess".

I think you are way too cheap at £80 for 1.2 cube personally (and it is this sort of pricing that keeps me well away from entering the firewood market). As for Centre Parcs - it's supply and demand. If people will pay it then why not sell it to them?! They are no doubt better off selling fewer logs at higher prices than knocking out hundreds of tonnes a week at little-to-no-profit.

When we went to center parks I just went out side the cabin early morning and collected a few dead branches, cut them up on the patio with my silky got the kids to stack them next to the fire[emoji23]

In fairness they do need a several hundred million pound holiday resort to be able to charge those prices........
