I climbed on that for years.  I am 87 Kilo in me pants.

 

3 wraps 2 braids on a short hitch cord.  It self tended and bit when needed.

 

I don't really use a VT these day as most of my work is done single line with a RR or a BDB.

Hmm, not sure then, I guess different types of cord make a huge difference. Knut is working for me, but going to check out the Moachan (sp?) later.

Lightweight, I'm probably 120 with my gear on

I am only 4' 6"  though.  Wider than I am tall.

Had success with on it today. 10mm ocean poly on 13mm xtc....60cm betwixt eyes.

Didn't slip once, but no chance of it self tending.

Thanks for tips everyone. Will get used to this then try some others more.

Nothing sweeter than a dialled-in VT, but it is more temperamental than a woman.

After years of putting it off I bought a ZZ and it just works like a perfect VT, every time, straight out of the box.

SRT mostly these days, with a Wrench (don't tell Petzl), but still plenty Ddrt when the job suits.

Don't you find it a pain using the Zigzag SRT? Being non midline attachable and all

This is what I’m on , looks ridiculous as the legs are long but love it, never binds and tends slack pretty much instantly .. you have to dress it and there is a bit of sit back but have yet to loose it in too free fall ..just got to watch the gloves in the wrench ! Find having the wrench close to the knot really helps with drag on limb walks with being able to pull the wrench on to the knot and still have control with one hand but I doubt there are many who would want to use it ,I have tried the HItch hiker , bulldog bone , akimbo , and ZZ all seem to have there issues but with a hitch you can tune it and make it fluid for movement so much easier
