Alpine always seems easier to free up than a bowline as well.

Can't work out if this is a serious one or I've been suckered in! 

I've always found Bowlines far easier to undo than Alpines. Circus Bowline is nice for a midline knot

'Coming across' a knot after loading it is certainly a new one on me, but It doesn't surprise me.
