Hi guys, just after some advice on air compressors. Im looking at buying one in the new year and im a bit overwhelmed for choice. All i would need it for is to clean my saws and maybe some light use for air tools (sanders etc). Any recommendations? Looking in the region of £100-£150 is this price tag sensible or am i being a bit tight.... cheers

I have a 50l tank one from sgs. Great for saws. Not really ok for clackclackclack guns and other beefier tools. But was 180 quid and you can use them but just have to wait for tank to fill up from time to time if you want full torque. Same with the dremel type attachment

No problem blowing out a few saws with a small cheap compressor but running a sander may need a higher CFM. Think the usual advise is to go for a higher CFM than the most air hungry tool you want. Sure there are some online guides. Think our old compressor was 10 CFM and I would not have wanted less when using the sander but sanders may have become more efficient as this was at least 15 years ago.

You will be lucky to run any air tools apart from a nail gun or possibly an impact wrench. It's cheaper to buy and run a 600w electric sander or die grinder than a 2kw compressor and it's quieter as well. They are always handy for blowing tyres up and blowing filters out though.
