Any possibility that the actors got greedy/too hard to pay?(while appreciating the money spinner the GoT franchise is)

I am waiting on a hard drive with the entire series thereon so will reserve judgement on Series 8, but what I liked about the random earlier episodes I watched, was the balance of the characters, no individually was wholly good or wholly bad(well mostly) or at least even the "heros" have flaws.

Nothing to do with the actors, it was the writing.

But with the GoT budget or finances why the apparently appallingly writing of series 8, so I was referring to the perhaps deliberate "killing off" of the series, i.e. was there a sub-plot to/story behind, the clearly sub par writing?

I thought it was just that the writers who took over from RR Martin didn’t understand or develop the characters and the holes in the plot were ridiculous.

Best description I heard was this is what happens when the clever kid in school stops letting you copy their homework.

I don't see the problem with the ending that much, for 8 seasons everyone has been talking about going to Kings Landing and smashing it up and then when someone finally does, they all get the hump. There was nothing surprising about what happened when you take the emotion out of it and 'Game of Thrones' has proved time and again that it doesn't care about you. I don't get why anyone is shocked.
