So Igor has settled in nicely, the rescue centre were going to castrate him but in order to sped up the adoption thing we took him straight away.

We made the appointment to have him done next week and all of a sudden I thought "why put him through it?"

He's clean, even tempered, sure he runs off, but he always comes back. He's not a leg humper.

I'm going to cancel it, any reason to do it I'm missing here?

Do you intend to breed from him? How old is he?

It would reduce the chance of testicular cancer and may reduce any aggression issues although if aggression is already apparent it can be hard to unlearn the social behaviour.

A very personal choice.

I'd do again it if I got another dog... it's all well saying you would breed from him but there is plenty of rescue dogs out there that need a home.

Was the best thing I did with my jack as well, as soon as he hit that age that he started running off if he could smell a bitch on heat , I got him done and he's never left my side since, before he would jump out the truck before you could get hold of him , even out the window whilst going along! and literally take off and you could not stop him....safer for him as he has no road sense ....especially when on the sniff!
