Freelander versus Terrano

Hi,

 

I'm looking at getting one of the above and wondered if anybody had any suggestions as to which would be better.

 

Budget is only about £3000 and it will be used for pricing jobs but also want to be able to tow a trailer load of wood on bigger jobs (have a tipper to take the chip).

The old 2.7 Terrano engine is what they used in the Black cabs and goes on forever has well has having a Timing chain .

Suspension is the issue on the front but otherwise a better motor than the Freelanders

It's no contest between the two if you want a working 4x4. Terrano, definitely. Go for the 2.7 intercooled.

Don't go near a freelander,they don't do anything well apart from breaking down and emptying your wallet.

Had both and still run a couple of Freelanders, Terrano wins hands down as a tow barge but the Freelander is a better 4x4 car for smoking about in. Both do a different job really.

I had a shelander, wouldn't have another! No experience with the Terrano, but nothing but good experience with Nissan in general and their after service.

My first 4wd back in the late 90s was a Terrano, fell apart like a circus clown's car.

 

Don't confuse them with the robustness of a pick up, other people seem to have better experiences though, which is fair enough.
