I'll mark the lawn out in 6" squares and aim for two a day 🤣

Sign in a pub Gents.

We aim to please, could you aim too, please.

Yesterday (thread warning tangent) blackboard outside the pub obviously welcoming everyone back. But on the reverse, presumably un-noticed, it said "Ladies, only two at a time please"

Lightweight Lothario?

I read in a book by Dick/James Strawbridge that they grow tomatoes upside down, I guess to keep them away from pests/diseases , and they don't need staked, so thought I would give that a bash using old 10l paint buckets with a hole cut in the bottom. Some cucumber plants dangling in there too. A few of them I sowed some salad in the top.

Once they get a bit bigger I'll need to get them raised up more, might even try a few hanging outside if it's a good summer.

Didn't work fantastic for me. I was kinda running out of space to hang the things, they were getting in the way. Bit of a pain to water, and the pots dried out fast.

I think they would be a lot more successful if you had an auto irrigation system, which I'd like to get at some point.

I'm not doing great with veg so far this year, been very busy with work, and very few seeds germinated so far. Still pretty cold at night here.

I did finally get round to setting up a water source inside the polytunnel to make things easier. 1300l steel tank, fed from a nearby shed roof. And the tank is painted black, hopefully might act as a vague storage heater, getting warm during the day and cooling at night.

Did atleast get some more fruit trees planted over winter.

And had our first rhubarb crumble of the year a few weeks ago, then the new leaves were knocked back by more cold weather and snow!

I'm struggling at the moment, no where's to put the many pots of young plants, seedlings and germinating seeds. Run out of window sill space in the house and still too cold at night to move things into the greenhouse.
