Buy a place, its a pension plan .

Bob

It's the buying part that is difficult on a small income.

I suspect a lot af people don't have a big enough income to buy and therefore have to rent.

I was lucky ,my mate rents this yard and doesn't use it all .

Where does the 'Dipper' come from b0D?

If I wanted a yard I could mortgage my house and buy one. A lot of the lads on here ain't in that situation.

Lots could pay the mortgage, finding the deposit to get started is a different story.

I've been wanting to buy a yard but round here every scrap is built on so they go for 500k upwards

Pretty much the same around here, every bit either has planning or is the bottom of somebody's garden! i would mortgage the land as like bob says its an investment.

Same here! I dread to think how much money yard will have cost in 10 years when that could have been paying one off!

Yes fields do come up for sale etx but no chance of change of use.

Piddling unto the wind springs to mind!

People dont seem to remember that industry needs places to work, some will buy house close to businesses then complain about businesses noise etc... :001_rolleyes:

Chris I dont understand the pessimism , if you have raised the game a bit and are renting a yard just up the ante a bit more and buy one. I am not saying its easy but its doable as many on here can confirm. You need to be away from houses to avoid the complaints and council intervention, they only act on complaints so out of sight and earshot is important. Its the only sort of finance that's worth having in my opinion, every penny spent on rent is the bit that's getting pissed in the wind.
