Earliest I ever saw one was March 15th 1981 skimming the outside swimming pool in Chelmsford- watched it for around 10-15 minutes. Was another 3-4 weeks before we saw another

The Returnees have appeared in North Nottinghamshire at my partners spot! They were first seem last week! Skylarks in the fields too...

We so one on Friday 2nd April up here in sunny but yet cold Lancashire and it was at the same place i so my first one last year as well.

You remember that from ‘81?  
 

I can hardly remember what I did last week 😂

Me neither - some things just stick though. Day after the fishing season ended so as that wasn’t available we went swimming instead - year before I left school so remember it like it was yesterday.

but as I get older my short term memory is not what it was ☹️
