Not been yet. Nice place to live and work though.

 

Yes, it's ace. Lots and lots of Palms, a few laurels and quite a lot of Australian imports like beefwood trees. Never be rich but it's a great place, surfs ace too

If you have a big tree and want a smaller tree topping is the answer

You top it again when it becomes a big tree again every ones a winner

I have a similar thing going on with my lawn

It's better than felling

Plus the 12" bandit and bobcat is kind of wasted on 1m reductions!

I "hat-racked" a large ash tree (about 3.5ft dbh) on my own land about 7 years ago, it was looming over a neighbours house. Being well aware of the implications this seemed like the best management option for me. It has come back nicely albeit a little dense, you cant even tell in summer and hasn't shed any branches since. I will probably spend half a day taking off all the regrowth this winter and then not have to touch it again for another 7 or 8 years. Horses for courses
