How much to charge for loler inspection

Hi.

I'm fairly new to this. I have been working in the tree industry now for 15 years and have finally got round to doing my loler inspectors course which starts next week.

Was just wondering if there are any loler inspectors on here and how much or what is the best way to go about pricing for climbing kits ect as I don't want to do people out of money but also I don't want to do myself out of time or money.

Any info would be helpful.

Cheers

My loler guy charged £35 per kit ,

Which I think is fairly reasonable..

Personally, I think that's too cheap.

On the other end of the spectrum I heard there is a firm out there (insisted upon by certain insurance companies) that charge £10 per karibiner!

What constitutes a "KIT" though, I have seen some gear addicts with bags of the large and bulging kind.

It was a lot worse back when there was still plenty of kit about that needed engraving

Clients can save time (money) if they do the marking and data entry part themselves and just leave the inspector to examine and sign off.

We charge £65/kit for initial Examinations, £46/kit for repeat examinations, discounts for large companies but never anywhere near £35.

To stay current and continue to examine kits to a high standard takes quite allot ongoing education, research, admin etc, be careful not to underestimate the hours that will go unpaid. I sure did when i started out and it was only by becoming super efficient that we were able to keep our prices as they are.
