Thanks.

Good job Mick, listening to some on here, I'm gettin the impression some would rig up every bit of kit to hand to take down one limb rather than have the job done in ten minute's with a bit of improvisation...

How I miss the good old days of being shaken around like a rag doll Noel!

That made me smile, reminded me when I was young & would fell silver birch with my father, part of a conservation project. One weekend no saws available, out came the felling axes...

So I'd climb the tree - they wernt too tall then swing out to bend it right over as silver birch flex, hanging a few feet from the ground then one hit from dad would snap it like a twig & Id drop into the heather laughing.

seemed to work well, no H&S then & never got a scratch

Old days???? Still get that some days using a whole bunch of shiny expensive gear when over enthusiastic rapping of the rope happens without me noticing, seems to hurt more with the new gear or maby I'm getting a bit older.

I hate that Gray.

'2 wraps then we'll fell it' misheard as '4 wraps and lock it off'....

Joking aside, I'm lucky that I work with very good groundies, and am more likely to be on the deck these days, especially with big stuff.

Letting it run sometimes isn't an option on the chunky stuff at the bottom, like.
