Cheers Ed for this thread, really enjoying it, as i am classed as a "Newbie" to climbing, giving me a great laugh:biggrin:

 

The thing that comes to mind though is how fast things are moving on. After 5 or 6 years climbing, i am now getting comments like "oh, you still only climb on a prussik dont you"!:001_huh:

 

Back then anything like a VT was just for the hyper techno guys where i was taught!

n laying down rope in the truck so you could stack on top and back at the yard tie it off and drive away.

wanting to use that old stihl climbing saw with the handle on the back (cant remember the name) sunglasses and earmuffs.

I can say I've done most of all thats been said, but I have never painted wounds with Arbrex!

 

Theres nowt wrong with 24mm staplespun...... pulled a great big tree over backwards last friday with it, reminds me its still in the back of the landy and wants hanging up for next time. :001_tongue:

was that the stihl 009, there was one before that too.i had one...rattly little thing too:thumbup1:

The name TIBLOC keeps springing to mind . What do I know its probably some new thing ? .:confused1:

 

as you say its a new thing :blushing:

no one climbed on anything less than 12mm in them days and tibloc would not work on 3 strand anyhow:thumbup:
