I`m with BT. Total TOTAL nightmare. Signal is fine apart from at home (Vodapone signal). I strongly regret leaving o2. Never had any problems with o2, never spend hours of frustration on the phone to customer services. Don`t go wiyh BT. Brewery and p%$* up spring to mind.

not possible as far as I know. when the phone is active and in call mode there i a sensor under the ear end of the phone. Put your finger over it and the screen dies . same principle when you put it next to your ear...

as for the push email question... I disabled the email as I would have a lot of spam and unread mail (hotmail and POP3) when in 3g mode without requesting to collect mail... i that what you mean?

not sure what push is but mine goes and gets emails from 2 accounts at any time interval i set it to

set to every 30 mins at mo

or can do at any time interval or manual

really love my phone for email

rarely do email on computer anymore

Aha, a thread I can be of use in!

Righto, don't say I'm not good to you Mr Jones!

First place to start is these UK Coverage Maps:

Orange Coverage Map

Vodafone Coverage Map

O2 Coverage Map

T-Mobile Coverage Map

I've not bothered to put 3's on there, because I wouldn't even recommend them to our biggest competitor

Traditionally, Vodafone & Orange have the strongest networks, but it all depends on where you're planning on using it (as obvious as that sounds, it never failed to amaze me how many people just put up with not having a mobile phone signal in their house!).

Being an ex Vodafone employee, that's who I'm with and I'm very very rarely out of coverage, even up here in the barren wildernesses of Scotland! That said, the only other company I'd use would be Orange.

Blackberry Bold on orange generally very good (in london) you can text/email fast on the real keyboard. if you get a google account you can sync everything automatically, address book diary, email, and you get google maps for free. But hey your a tree surgeon these things don't handle well in the real man's world of dirt and timber. Oh and get a Krussell cover and you get geotagged photos but the camera on the bold is 2mp as opposed to the curve which has a 3.2mp. Decisions decisions..... oh and also get Dexrex to record all your texts. so if you lose you phone there are no issues... and if you want to find something out about you blackberry just google the question, easier than the non existent manual. Crackberry rocks. Good night.
